A discovery well drilled in a crestal position logged gas. Question was posed whether there is a downdip oil rim. Its presence or absence would demand different development scenarios. Gassman fluid substitution modeling was used to estimate the wet and oil responses of the reservoir. Subsequenctly, a 2D synthetic seismic model was built. It shows that a downdip oil rim would be practically undetectable from the updip gas.
